Wadatsumi

Hanabi’s second FRC robot is named “Wadatsumi.”
“Wadatsumi” is an ancient Japanese term
referring to a sea deity or a god who governs the ocean.

In Japanese mythology,
Wadatsumi is associated with three deities born
from the purification ritual of Izanagi-no-Mikoto:
Bottom Watatsumi, Middle Watatsumi, and Upper Watatsumi,
who are said to rule over the sea depths, the ocean itself,
and the sea surface, respectively.

This robot was named with inspiration from the
theme of the FRC 2025 season, “Reefscape,”
reflecting the vastness, depth, and dynamic nature of the ocean.
